Middle School STEM Works Envirosort Challenge
Middle School STEM Works Envirosort Challenge
Some of our fantastic young scientists in middle school took part in the Worcestershire STEM Works Envirosort Challenge in May. Students were provided with an introduction to the exciting world of engineering by using K’Nex to produce a solution for sorting rubbish. The Challenge was a practical activity where students designed and built a robotic arm to sort recycling!
The winning team was Logan Finlow and Alfie Emms who were chosen based on their ability to work together, solve problems, produce a working model and communicate their ideas to each other and the judge. They will be representing the Vale school at the Worcestershire STEM Challenge Final held on 30th June at Yamazaki Mazak where pupils will be challenged to create a model using similar criteria to those encountered in school.
It was a fantastic morning and all the students were excellent. Well done!
