Grade 2 Teaching Assistant

32.25 hours a week 

 Term-time only + 5 Training days   

12 Month Fixed Term Maternity Cover

CLPT 7-11 (£22,369 – £24,054 FTE)

Actual Salary £16,771.27 – £18,034.61

(Salary will be higher if you have over 5 years continuous service)

We are looking for an inspirational and outstanding teaching assistant with a commitment for improving outcomes for young children with significant learning needs. 

Applicants will need to be unrelentingly positive in the face of adversity, possess high levels of energy and enthusiasm, and the ability to work in an ever-changing environment.  

The successful candidate will:   

  • Have an NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification Have good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Have knowledge of child development
  • Understand the varied needs of children as they develop socially and academically.
  • Have evidence of understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Have an ability to be flexible to the needs of the children.
  • Be able to use ICT to store and retrieve data.
  • Have a willingness to learn and take on new ideas

Hours of work will be (with half an hour lunch break each day):

Monday 

8.45am – 4.30pm

Tuesday 

8.45am – 3.30pm

Wednesday 

8.45am – 3.45pm

Thursday 

8.45am – 3.30pm

Friday 

8.45am – 3.15pm

Vale of Evesham school is a member of Central Learning Partnership Trust who work collaboratively and share expertise to improve opportunities and life chances for all our young people. Vale of Evesham School is an all-age generic special school registered to take pupils from the age of 2 to 19 with a weekly, 15 place residential provision, Blossom House. We are a Specialist School for Cognition and Learning and work with parents/carers, schools and other agencies in our community to share practice.

We strive to provide an inclusive, holistic provision that ensures the security and care for every child, thereby enabling them to reach their full potential in an encouraging and supportive environment. Casual Grade 2 Teaching Assistant
Term time only

CLPT07 CLPT07 10.60 £11.47 per hour)


Vale of Evesham School caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, who have moderate, severe, and profound learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have other barriers to their learning including
autism, challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. The school also has a residential provision for weekly boarders, which ensures that we offer a 24hour curriculum for up to 15 pupils.
We are looking for candidates to join our casual teaching assistant team. There will be some flexibility about where within school you would work, so the post would suit someone who wants to work with young people from all key stages. Applicants will need energy and enthusiasm, and the ability to work in a busy environment. The work can be challenging but watching the progress of the pupils can also be extremely rewarding. The successful candidate will:


have an understanding of SEN

have the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and parents

be able to use their initiative and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability

have a willingness to learn and take on new ideas

have good teamworking capacity
