Residential Child Care Officer
37 hours per a week – Permanent position
Term time only + 5 training days
Scale CLPT15 – CLPT22 £25,878 – £29,439 FTE (£22,731.35 – £25,859.34 actual)
Vale of Evesham School is a Specialist School for Cognition and Learning. The school caters for pupils who have moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties. The school has a residential provision for weekly boarders, which ensures that we offer a 24–hour curriculum for up to 15 pupils. Many of our pupils have other barriers to their learning including autism, challenging behaviour, physical disabilities and complex health needs. We are currently looking for Care Officers to join our committed residential staff team in supporting our pupils before and after school. Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday evenings, and Tuesday to Friday mornings, with some Monday to Friday daytime working, on a set shift pattern.
Tuesday 7am–9:30am & 2pm–10pm
Wednesday 7am–9:30am & 3pm–10pm
Thursday 7am–9am & 3pm–8pm
Plus 1.5 hours per week administration time.
The post benefits from set shift patterns, with no weekend or bank holiday working required. It is a term time only position, so you would not be required to work during school holidays. Sleep–in duties are not an expected part of the role but can be available, these are paid separately in addition to the above salary.

Vale of Evesham School caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, who have moderate, severe, and profound learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have other barriers to their learning including
autism, challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. The school also has a residential provision for weekly boarders, which ensures that we offer a 24–hour curriculum for up to 15 pupils. We are looking for candidates to join our casual teaching assistant team. There will be some flexibility about where within school you would work, so the post would suit someone who wants to work with young people from all key stages. Applicants will need energy and enthusiasm, and the ability to work in a busy environment. The work can be challenging but watching the progress of the pupils can also be extremely rewarding. The successful candidate will:
• have an understanding of SEN
• have the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and parents
• be able to use their initiative and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
• have a willingness to learn and take on new ideas
• have good team–working capacity
