Vale Community

The Vale of Evesham School enjoys being part of the local community and endeavours to involve the local area as much as possible into our school life. This takes the form of a variety of different approaches and involvement.

Throughout the school year classes visit local places of worship and interest. We also encourage local speakers, that represent a variety of charities and community concerns to talk to separate groups and encourage local businesses to share their experiences as part of our ‘Careers Encounter.’

We have a particularly good link with local leisure providers and access their premises regularly, visiting the cinema, galleries and other exciting venues with links that give us special concessions.

The school also has access to Severn Arts, for our young people to take part in learning to play a musical instrument and performing for parent/carers.

Local charities are supported by us and will promote our school in their press releases if they can. They also visit us and give talks about their charities to our young people. These local charities also  involve us in their fund raising.

As part of our community projects, we take part in the county’s ‘Voices and Visions Art Exhibition in the Worcester Cathedral and the Pershore arts event at Number 8. We try and support all local events and have enjoyed being part of the Cancer charity, ‘Race for Life ‘and the Macmillan Coffee Mornings. Other events we can take part in are the Number 8 Cinema in Pershore who have encouraged us to take part in the Film Presentations and have allowed us to use their cinema for our youngsters to get used to accessing a film without a large audience.

Parents/Carers and friends of the school are invited to social events and a variety of interesting talks from professionals are hosted at the school on a variety of topics. We always like to involve parents and carers as much as possible in the day and as part of some of the residential activities.

We are fortunate to be in an excellent community that we use in a variety of diverse ways.
